ਮਾਰੂਰਾਗਬਜਾਵਤਧਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮਾਰੂ ਰਾਗ ਵਜਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਮਲਾਵਰ ਹੋਇਆ
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸਛੂਹਣਿਲੈਦਲੁਆਯੋ॥੧੭੫੯॥
ਅਤੇ ਬਾਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਛੋਹਣੀਆਂ ਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਇਆ ॥੧੭੫੯॥
Saying this, the minister marched forward with his companions and twelve extremely large military units, playing on the war-drums and other musical instruments in Maru musical mode.1759.

ਸੰਕਰਖਣਹਰਿਸੋਕਹਿਯੋਕਰੀਐਕਵਨਉਪਾਇ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, (ਦਸੋ) ਹੁਣ ਕੀ ਉਪਾ ਕਰੀਏ?
ਸੁਮਤਿਮੰਤ੍ਰਿਦਲਪ੍ਰਬਲਲੈਰਨਮਧਿਪਹੁੰਚਿਯੋਆਇ॥੧੭੬੦॥
ਸੁਮਤਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਬਲ ਦਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੬੦॥
Balram said to Krishna, “Some step may be taken, because the minister Sumati has reached with innumerable forces in the battlefield.1760.

ਤਬਬੋਲਿਓਜਦੁਬੀਰਢੀਲਤਜੋਬਲਿਹਲਿਗਹੋ॥
ਤਦ ਕਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ! ਢਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਹਲ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ।
Then Krishna said, “Leave your idleness and take up your plough
ਰਹੀਯੋਤੁਮਮਮਤੀਰਆਗੈਪਾਛੈਜਾਹੁਜਿਨਿ॥੧੭੬੧॥
ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਰਹੀਂ, ਅਗੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਨਾ ਜਾਈਂ ॥੧੭੬੧॥
Be near me and do not go anywhere.”1761.
ਸਵੈਯਾ॥

ਰਾਮਲੀਯੋਧਨੁਪਾਨਿਸੰਭਾਰਿਧਸ੍ਰਯੋਤਿਨਮੈਮਨਿਕੋਪੁਬਢਾਯੋ॥
ਬਲਰਾਮ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਵੜਿਆ।
Balram held up his bow and arrows and in great fury, jumped into the war-arena
ਬੀਰਅਨੇਕਹਨੇਤਿਹਠਉਰਘਨੋਅਰਿਸਿਉਤਬਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਵੀਰ ਯੋਧੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਘੋਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
He killed many warriors and waged a dreadful war with the enemy
ਜੋਕੋਊਆਇਭਿਰਿਯੋਬਲਿਸਿਉਅਤਿਹੀਸੋਊਘਾਇਨਕੇਸੰਗਘਾਯੋ॥
ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਘਾਓਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਾਇਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Whosoever came to fight with Balram, he was wounded very badly and the warrior who confronted him,
ਮੂਰਛਭੂਮਿਗਿਰੇਭਟਝੂਮਿਰਹੇਰਨਮੈਤਿਹਸਾਮੁਹੇਧਾਯੋ॥੧੭੬੨॥
ਘੁੰਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਰਛਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਜੋ) ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਹਨ (ਉਹ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦੇ) ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੭੬੨॥
He either fell down unconscious on the ground or hissed while dying.1762.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਕਮਾਨਲੀਏਕਰਮੈਰਨਮੈਜਬਕੇਹਰਿਜਿਉਭਭਕਾਰੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਕਮਾਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਜਦ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਭਬਕ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
When Krishna, taking up his bow and arrows, is challenging in the war like a lion,
ਕੋਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓਭਟਐਸੇਬਲੀਜਗਿਧੀਰਧਰੇਹਰਿਸੋਰਨਪਾਰੇ॥
(ਤਦ) ਕਿਹੜਾ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਬਲੀ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਜੋ) ਧੀਰਜ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਏ।
Who is then so mighty not to forsake endurance and fight with him?
ਅਉਰਸੁਕਉਨਤਿਹੂੰਪੁਰਮੈਬਲਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਸਿਉਬੈਰਕੋਭਾਉਬਿਚਾਰੇ॥
ਹੋਰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਜੋ) ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ।
Who is there in all the three worlds who can be inimical with Balram and Krishna,
ਜੋਹਠਕੈਕੋਊਜੁਧੁਕਰੈਸੁਮਰੈਪਲਮੈਜਮਲੋਕਿਸਿਧਾਰੇ॥੧੭੬੩॥
ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਹਠ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਪਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਯਮ ਲੋਕ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਏਗਾ ॥੧੭੬੩॥
But still if anyone comes persistently to fight with them, he reaches the abode of Yama in an instant.1763.
ਜਬਜੁਧੁਕੋਸ੍ਯਾਮਜੂਰਾਮਚਢੇਤਬਕਉਨਬਲੀਰਨਧੀਰਧਰੈ॥
ਜਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸਥਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਦ ਕੌਣ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਧੀਰਜ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
Which mighty warrior will observe endurance, seeing Balram and Krishna coming to fight?
ਜੋਊਚਉਦਹਲੋਕਨਕੋਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਸੁਬਾਲਕਜਾਨਿਲਰੈ॥
ਜੋ ਚੌਦਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਲਕ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
He, who is the Lord of the fourteen world, the king, considering him a child, is fighting with him
ਜਿਹਨਾਮਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਤੇਪਾਪਟਰੈਤਿਹਕੋਰਨਭੀਤਰਕਉਨਹਰੈ॥
ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਪ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਕੌਣ ਹਰਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।
He, with the glory of whose name, all the sins are destroyed, who can kill him in the war?
ਮਿਲਿਆਪਸਿਮੈਸਬਲੋਕਕਹੈਰਿਪੁਸੰਧਿਜਰਾਬਿਨੁਆਈਮਰੈ॥੧੭੬੪॥
ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਵੈਰੀ ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਬਿਨਾ (ਮੌਤ ਦੇ) ਆਇਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਏਗਾ ॥੧੭੬੪॥
All the people getting together are saying this that the enemy Jarasandh will die without cause.1764.

ਇਤਏਕਰਤਬਿਚਾਰਿਸੁਭਟਲੋਕਨ੍ਰਿਪਕਟਕਮੈ॥
ਇਧਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
On this side in the army of the king, such-like thoughts are arising int eh minds of the warriors and
ਉਤਬਲਿਸਸਤ੍ਰਸੰਭਾਰਿਧਾਇਪਰਿਓਨਾਹਿਨਡਰਿਯੋ॥੧੭੬੫॥
ਉਧਰ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ) ਡਰਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੧੭੬੫॥
On that side Krishna sustaining his power and weapons, fearlessly fell upon the army.1765.
