ਘਨਿਯੋਹਾਥਕਾਟੇਗਿਰੇਪੇਟਫਾਟੈਫਿਰੈਬੀਰਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮਮੈਬਾਨਲਾਗੇ॥
ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਕਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੇਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬਾਣ ਵਜੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹ) ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘੁੰਮ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Hands of many were amputated, many fell on the ground with exploded bellies, and those pierced with arrows were roaming in the battlefield.
ਘਨਿਯੋਘਾਇਲਾਗੇਬਸਤ੍ਰਸ੍ਰਉਨਪਾਗੇਮਨੋਪਹਨਿਆਏਸਬੈਲਾਲਬਾਗੇ॥੧੮੦੬॥
ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਉ ਲਗੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਗੜੁਚ ਹਨ ਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਲਾਲ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਆਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੮੦੬॥
Many of the wounded appeared to have come after wearing red garmens.1806.
ਜਬੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਬਲਿਰਾਮਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮਮ੍ਯਾਨੇਲੀਯੋਪਾਨਿਸੰਭਾਰਕੈਚਕ੍ਰਭਾਰੀ॥
ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਚੱਕਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
When Krishna and Balram took the discus and the sword in their hands, then someone went pulling his bow and
ਕੇਊਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕੋਤਾਨਧਾਏਕੇਊਢਾਲਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲਮੁਗਦ੍ਰਕਟਾਰੀ॥
ਉਦੋਂ ਕਈ ਬਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਤਾਣ ਕੇ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਢਾਲ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ, ਮੁਗਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਟਾਰ (ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ)।
Someone went holding the shield, trident, mace or dagger
ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿਕੀਫਉਜਮੈਚਾਲਪਾਰੀਬਲੀਦਉਰਕੈਠਉਰਿਸੈਨਾਸੰਘਾਰੀ॥
ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਹਲਚਲ ਮਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
There was consternation in the army of Jarasandh, becase the mighty Krishna ran hither and thither to kill the army
ਦੁਹੂੰਓਰਤੇਸਾਰਪੈਸਾਰਬਾਜਿਯੋਛੁਟੀਮੈਨਕੇਸਤ੍ਰੁਕੀਨੈਨਤਾਰੀ॥੧੮੦੭॥
ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੋਹੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਹਾ ਵਜਿਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਰੂਪ) ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ (ਸ਼ਿਵ) ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਖੁਲ੍ਹ ਗਈ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੦੭॥
The steel collided with steel on both sides and because of the dreadfulness of war, the meditation of Shiva was also impaired.1807.
ਮਚੀਮਾਰਿਘਮਕਾਰਿਤਲਵਾਰਿਬਰਛੀਗਦਾਛੁਰੀਜਮਧਰਨਅਰਿਦਲਸੰਘਾਰੇ॥
ਬਹੁਤ ਘਮਸਾਨ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਬਰਛੀ, ਗਦਾ, ਛੁਰੀ, ਜਮਧਾੜ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰੀ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
There was terrible destruction with the swords, lances, maces, daggers, axes etc. and the enemy’s army was being killed
ਬਢੀਸ੍ਰਉਨਸਲਤਾਬਹੇਜਾਤਗਜਬਾਜਰਥਮੁੰਡਕਰਿਸੁੰਡਭਟਤੁੰਡਨਿਆਰੇ॥
ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਭਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਥੀ, ਘੋੜੇ, ਰਥ, ਮੁੰਡ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਖਰੇ ਵਖਰੇ ਰੁੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
The flowing stream of blood was flooded, the elephants, horses, chariots, heads and trunks of elephants were seen flowing in it
ਤ੍ਰਸੇਭੂਤਬੈਤਾਲਭੈਰਵਿਭਗੀਜੁਗਨੀਪੈਰਖਪਰਿਉਲਟਿਉਰਿਸੁਧਾਰੇ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਭੂਤ, ਬੈਤਾਲ, ਭੈਰਉ ਡਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਖਪਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਟਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
The ghosts, Vaitala and Bhairavas become thirsty and the Yoginis also ran away with overturned bowls
ਭਨੈਰਾਮਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮਅਤਿਤੁਮਲਦਾਰੁਨਭਯੋਮੋਨਤਜਿਸਿਵਬ੍ਰਹਮਜੀਅਡਰਾਰੇ॥੧੮੦੮॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਰਾਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤਿ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਫਲਸਰੂਪ) ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਮੌਨ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਡਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੦੮॥
The poet Ram says that in this terrible battle even Shiva and Brahma leaving their concentration became fearful.1808 .

ਜਬਸਾਮਸੁਪਉਰਖਏਤੋਕੀਯੋਅਰਿਸੈਨਹੁਤੇਭਟਏਕਪੁਕਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਇਤਨੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਵਖਾਈ (ਤਦ) ਵੈਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹਬਡੋਬਲਵੰਡਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਘਮੰਡਕੀਯੋਅਤਿਨੈਕੁਨਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ (ਯੋਧਾ) ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਘਮੰਡ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
When Krishna exhibited so much bravery, a warrior from enemy’s army cried out, “Krishna is a very powerful hero and is not being defeated even slightly in the war
ਤਾਤੇਅਬੈਭਜੀਐਤਜੀਐਰਨਯਾਤੇਨਕੋਊਬਚਿਯੋਬਿਨੁਮਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਰਣ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਭਜਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਿਆ।
“Now leave the battlefield and run away, because all will die and none will survive
ਬਾਲਕਜਾਨਕੈਭੂਲਹੁਰੇਜਿਨਿਕੇਸਤੇਗਹਿਕੰਸਪਛਾਰਿਯੋ॥੧੮੦੯॥
(ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਬਾਲਕ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਭੁਲਿਓ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਕੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਟਕਾ ਸੁਟਿਆ ਸੀ ॥੧੮੦੯॥
Do not fall in the illusion that he is a boy, he is the same Krishna, who had knocked down Kansa by catching him from his hair.”1809.
ਐਸੋਉਚਾਰਸਬੈਸੁਨਿਕੈਚਿਤਮੈਅਤਿਸੰਕਤਿਮਾਨਭਏਹੈ॥
ਅਜਿਹੇ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ੰਕਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
ਕਾਇਰਭਾਜਨਕੋਮਨਕੀਨੋਹੈਸੂਰਨਕੇਮਨਕੋਪਿਤਏਹੈ॥
ਕਾਇਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਜਣ ਲਈ ਮਨ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਤਪ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Hearing these words, the suspense arose in the minds of all, the coward thought of running away from the battlefield, but the warriors were infuriated
ਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਨਲੈਕਰਿਮਾਨਭਰੇਭਟਆਇਖਏਹੈ॥
ਬਾਣ, ਕਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਾਂ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਯੋਧੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਖੈਬੜ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
Taking up their bows, arrows, swords etc., they began to fight proudly (with their opponents)
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਲਯੋਅਸਿਪਾਨਿਸੰਭਾਰਹਕਾਰਬਿਦਾਰਸੰਘਾਰਿਦਏਹੈ॥੧੮੧੦॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੰਗਾਰਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ (ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੧੦॥
Krishna took his sword in his hand, challenged all of them and killed tham.1810.
ਏਕਭਜੇਲਖਿਭੀਰਪਰੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਕਹੀਬਲਿਬੀਰਸੰਭਾਰੋ॥
(ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ) ਸੰਕਟ ਦੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤੇ ਕਈ ਯੋਧੇ ਭਜੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। (ਉਦੋਂ) ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੰਭਲੋ,
ਸਸਤ੍ਰਜਿਤੇਤੁਮਰੇਪਹਿਹੈਜੁਅਰੇਅਰਿਤਾਹਿਹਕਾਰਿਸੰਘਾਰੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ, ਅੜਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਓ।
Seeing the warriors running away in this calamitous situation, Krishna said to Balram, “You may control this situation and catching hold of all you weapons,
ਧਾਇਨਿਸੰਕਪਰੋਤਿਹਊਪਰਿਸੰਕਕਛੂਚਿਤਮੈਨਬਿਚਾਰੋ॥
ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਟੁਟ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਸੰਸਾ ਨਾ ਵਿਚਾਰੋ।
ਭਾਜਤਜਾਤਜਿਤੇਰਿਪੁਹੈਤਿਹਪਾਸਿਕੇਸੰਗਗ੍ਰਸੋਜਿਨਿਮਾਰੋ॥੧੮੧੧॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਵੀ ਵੈਰੀ ਭਜੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਕੜ ਲਵੋ, ਮਾਰੋ ਨਾ ॥੧੮੧੧॥
“Challenge the enemy and kill him, fall upon them unhesitatingly and all those enemies who are running away, entrap and catch them without killing them.”1811.
ਸ੍ਰੀਬ੍ਰਿਜਰਾਜਕੇਆਨਨਤੇਮੁਸਲੀਧਰਬੈਨਇਹੈਸੁਨਿਪਾਏ॥
(ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ) ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਇਹ ਬੋਲ ਸੁਣ ਲਏ
ਮੂਸਲਅਉਹਲਪਾਨਿਲਯੋਬਲਿਪਾਸਿਸੁਧਾਰਕੈਪਾਛੇਹੀਧਾਏ॥
ਤਾਂ ਮੂਸਲ ਅਤੇ ਹਲ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ) ਪਿਛੇ ਭਜ ਪਿਆ।
Hearing these words from the mouth of Krishna, Balram took his plough and mace and ran to pursue the enemy’s army
ਭਾਜਤਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੋਮਿਲਕੈਗਰਿਡਾਰਿਦਈਰਿਪੁਹਾਥਬੰਧਾਏ॥
ਭਜੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ (ਪਿਛੋਂ) ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਗਲ ਵਿਚ (ਪਾਸ) ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ,
Reaching near the running enemies, Balram bound their hands with his noose
ਏਕਲਰੇਰਨਮਾਝਮਰੇਇਕਜੀਵਤਜੇਲਿਕੈਬੰਧਪਠਾਏ॥੧੮੧੨॥
ਇਕ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਜੇਲ ਵਿਚ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੧੨॥
Some of them fought and died and some were taken alive as prisoners.1812.
ਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੇਬੀਰਤਬੈਅਰਿਸੈਨਕੇਪਾਛੇਪਰੇਅਸਿਧਾਰੇ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਧਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
The warriors of Krishna, holding their swords ran after the enemy’s army
ਆਇਖਏਸੋਊਮਾਰਿਲਏਤੇਊਜਾਨਿਦਏਜਿਨਿਇਉਕਹਿਯੋਹਾਰੇ॥
(ਜੋ) ਆ ਕੇ ਲੜੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਉਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ) ਹਾਰ ਗਏ ਹਾਂ।
Those who fought, were killed, and whosoever surrendered, he was released
ਜੋਨਟਰੇਕਬਹੂੰਰਨਤੇਅਰਿਤੇਬਲਿਦੇਵਕੇਬਿਕ੍ਰਮਟਾਰੇ॥
ਜੋ (ਵੈਰੀ ਯੋਧੇ) ਕਦੇ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟੇ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਬਲਪੂਰਵਕ ਪਿਛੇ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Those enemies, who had never retraced their steps in the war, they had to get back before the strength of Balram
ਭਾਜਿਗਏਬਿਸੰਭਾਰਭਏਗਿਰਗੇਕਰਤੇਕਰਵਾਰਿਕਟਾਰੇ॥੧੮੧੩॥
(ਉਹ) ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਟਾਰਾਂ ਡਿਗ ਪਈਆਂ ਹਨ ॥੧੮੧੩॥
They became cowards and becoming the burden on the earth, ran away, and the swords and daggers dropped from their hands.1813.
ਜੋਭਟਠਾਢੇਰਹੇਰਨਮੈਤੇਊਦਉਰਿਪਰੇਤਿਹਠਉਰਰਿਸੈਕੈ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਡਟੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਜਾ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਚਕ੍ਰਗਦਾਅਸਿਲੋਹਹਥੀਬਰਛੀਪਰਸੇਅਰਿਨੈਨਚਿਤੈਕੈ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ (ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੇ) ਚੱਕਰ, ਗਦਾ, ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀ ਮੁਠ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਰਛੀ, ਕੁਹਾੜੇ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ) ਕਰ ਲਏ ਹਨ।
Those warriors who kept standing in the battlefield, they now, getting enraged and taking up their discus, swords, lances, axes etc., gathered together and rushed to the front
ਨੈਕੁਡਰੈਨਹੀਧਾਇਪਰੈਭਟਗਾਜਿਸਬੈਪ੍ਰਭਕਾਜਜਿਤੈਕੈ॥
(ਉਹ) ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਵੀ ਡਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਜਿਤ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਗੱਜ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
All of them fearlessly thundering ran to conquer Krishna
ਅਉਰਦੁਹੂੰਦਿਸਜੁਧਕਰੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਸੁਰਧਾਮਹਿਤੈਕੈ॥੧੮੧੪॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸੁਅਰਗ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਲਈ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ (ਦੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੮੧੪॥
A dreadful war ensued from both sided for the attainment of heaven.1814.
ਪੁਨਿਜਾਦਵਧਾਇਪਰੇਇਤਤੇਉਤਤੇਮਿਲਿਕੈਅਰਿਸਾਮੁਹੇਧਾਏ॥
ਫਿਰ ਇਧਰੋਂ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਯਾਦਵ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਹੱਲਾ ਬੋਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਧਰੋਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆ ਡਟੇ ਹਨ।
Then Yadavas from this side and the enemies from that side confronted the opponents
ਆਵਤਹੀਤਿਨਆਪਸਿਬੀਚਹਕਾਰਿਹਕਾਰਿਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਲਗਾਏ॥
ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿਚ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਚੋਟਾਂ ਲਗਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
And mutually locked began to strike blows while challenging one another
ਏਕਮਰੇਇਕਸਾਸਭਰੇਤਰਫੈਇਕਘਾਇਲਭੂਪਰਆਏ॥
ਇਕ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਇਕ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਾਹ ਲੈ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਇਕ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਤੜਫ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
Many of them died and writhed on being wounded and many were laid down on the earth
ਮਾਨੋਮਲੰਗਅਖਾਰਨਭੀਤਰਲੋਟਤਹੈਬਹੁਭਾਗਚੜਾਏ॥੧੮੧੫॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਭੰਗ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਮਲੰਗ ਅਖਾੜਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਟੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੮੧੫॥

ਬਡੇਸ੍ਵਾਮਿਕਾਰਜੀਅਟਲਸੂਰਆਹਵਮੈਸਤ੍ਰਨਕੇਸਾਮੁਹੇਤੇਪੈਗੁਨਟਰਤਹੈ॥
ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਟਲ (ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ) ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਕ ਕਦਮ ਵੀ ਪਿਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
The great warriors are engaged in fighting firmly and are not retracing their steps while confronting the enemy
ਬਰਛੀਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਲੈਕਮਾਨਬਾਨਸਾਵਧਾਨਤਾਹੀਸਮੇਚਿਤਮੈਹੁਲਾਸਕੈਲਰਤਹੈ॥
ਬਰਛੀ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ (ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਤਸਾਹ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Taking their lances, swords, arrows etc. in their hands, they are fighting delightfully, being quite alert
ਜੂਝਕੈਪਰਤਭਵਸਾਗਰਤਰਤਭਾਨੁਮੰਡਲਕਉਭੇਦਪ੍ਯਾਨਬੈਕੁੰਠਕਰਤਹੈ॥
ਲੜ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਦੇ ਹਨ, ਭਵ-ਸਾਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜਮੰਡਲ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਲੇ ਪਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
They are embracing martyrdrom in order to ferry across the dreadful ocean of samsara
ਕਹੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਪ੍ਰਾਨਅਗੇਕਉਧਸਤਐਸੇਜੈਸੇਨਰਪੈਰਪੈਰਕਾਰੀਪੈਧਰਤਹੈ॥੧੮੧੬॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਧਸੀ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਪੌੜੀ ਉਤੇ ਪੈਰ ਧਰਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੧੬॥
And after touching the sphere of the sun, they are abiding in heave, just as the foot thrusts further in a deep place, similarly according to the poet, the warriors are advancing forward.1816.

ਇਹਭਾਤਿਕੋਜੁਧੁਭਯੋਲਖਿਕੈਭਟਕ੍ਰੁਧਤਹ੍ਵੈਰਿਪੁਓਰਿਚਹੈ॥
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਏ ਵੈਰੀ ਵਲ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
Seeing such-like fighting, the warriors, getting enraged, are looking towards the enemy
ਬਰਛੀਕਰਿਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਪਰਸੇਤਿਰਸੂਲਗਹੈ॥
ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਬਰਛੀ, ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ, ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ, ਗਦਾ, ਕੁਹਾੜਾ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਪਕੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
They, holding in their hands lances, arrows, bows, swords, maces, tridents etc., are fearlessly striking blows
ਰਿਪੁਸਾਮੁਹੇਧਾਇਕੈਘਾਇਕਰੈਨਟਰੈਬਰਤੀਰਸਰੀਰਸਹੈ॥
ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ) ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਯੋਧੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਤੀਰ ਸਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਪਿਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
