ਏਕਪਰੇਭਟਪ੍ਰਾਨਬਿਨਾਮਨੋਸੋਵਤਹੈਮਦਰਾਮਦਮਾਤੇ॥੧੮੫੮॥
ਕਈ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪੀ ਕੇ ਮਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿਚ ਸੁੱਤੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੧੮੫੮॥
Some of them are absorbed in war, getting intoxicated, some warriors are lying lifeless like the ones highly intoxicated after drinking wine.1858.
ਜਾਦਵਜੇਅਤਿਕ੍ਰੋਧਭਰੇਗਹਿਆਯੁਧਿਸੰਧਜਰਾਪਹਿਧਾਵਤ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਾਦਵ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, (ਉਹ) ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਉਤੇ ਧਾਵਾ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
In extreme fury, the Yadavas, holding their weapons, have fallen on Jarasandh
ਅਉਰਜਿਤੇਸਿਰਦਾਰਬਲੀਕਰਵਾਰਿਸੰਭਾਰਿਹਕਾਰਿਬੁਲਾਵਤ॥
ਹੋਰ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਹਨ, ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਲਲਕਾਰੇ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The mighty warriors, taking up their swords are challenging all
ਭੂਪਤਿਪਾਨਿਲੈਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਗੁਮਾਨਭਰਿਯੋਰਿਪੁਓਰਿਚਲਾਵਤ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਬਾਣ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਵਲ ਚਲਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The king Jarasandh, taking his bow in his hand, is proudly discharging his arrows towards the enemies and
ਏਕਹੀਬਾਨਕੇਸਾਥਕੀਏਬਿਨੁਮਾਥਸੁਨਾਥਅਨਾਥਹੁਇਆਵਤ॥੧੮੫੯॥
ਇਕੋ ਹੀ ਬਾਣ ਨਾਲ (ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਿਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਥ (ਸਰਦਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ) ਅਨਾਥ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ॥੧੮੫੯॥
Even with a single arrow, he is routing many, making them headless.1859.
ਏਕਨਕੀਭੁਜਕਾਟਿਦਈਅਰੁਏਕਨਕੇਸਿਰਕਾਟਿਗਿਰਾਏ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਕਟ ਸੁਟੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਸੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।
He cut down the arm of someone and caused the head of someone fall down after cutting it
ਜਾਦਵਏਕਕੀਏਬਿਰਥੀਪੁਨਿਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੇਤੀਰਲਗਾਏ॥
ਕਈਆਂ ਯਾਦਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਨ।
Some Yadava was deprived of his chariot, then he shot an arrow towards Krishna
ਅਉਰਹਨੇਗਜਰਾਜਘਨੌਬਰਬਾਜਬਨੇਹਨਿਭੂਮਿਗਿਰਾਏ॥
ਹੋਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਹਾਥੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
He got many horses and elephants killed and fell on the ground
ਜੋਗਿਨਭੂਤਪਿਸਾਚਸਿੰਗਾਲਨਸ੍ਰਉਨਤਸਾਗਰਮਾਝਅਨਾਏ॥੧੮੬੦॥
ਜੋਗਣਾਂ, ਭੂਤ, ਪਿਸ਼ਾਚ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਦੜ ਲਹੂ ਦੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿਚ ਨ੍ਹਾਤੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੮੬੦॥
And the Yoginis, ghosts, fiends, jackals etc., began to bathe in the sea of blood in the battlefield.1860.
ਬੀਰਸੰਘਾਰਕੈਸ੍ਰੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੇਭੂਪਭਯੋਅਤਿਕੋਪਮਈਹੈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ, ਰਾਜਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
After killing the warriors of Krishna, the king became extremely angry and
ਜੁਧਬਿਖੈਮਨਦੇਤਭਯੋਤਨਕੀਸਿਗਰੀਸੁਧਿਭੂਲਿਗਈਹੈ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ (ਆਪਣਾ) ਮਨ ਅਰਪਿਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੁੱਧ ਬੁੱਧ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
He was absorbed in fighting to such an extent that he forgot the consciousness of his body and mind
ਐਨਹੀਸੈਨਹਨੀਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਸੁਪਰੀਛਿਤਮੈਬਿਨਪ੍ਰਾਨਭਈਹੈ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ('ਐਨ') ਸੈਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਵਿੱਛੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ।
ਭੂਪਤਿਮਾਨਹੁਸੀਸਨਕੀਸਭਸੂਰਨਹੂੰਕੀਜਗਾਤਿਲਈਹੈ॥੧੮੬੧॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚ ਕਰ ਵਸੂਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੮੬੧॥
He destroyed the army of Krishna and scattered it on the earth, it appeared that the king had realized the tax of their heads from the warriors.1861.
ਛਾਡਿਦਏਜਿਤਸਾਚਕੈਮਾਨਹੁਮਾਰਿਦਏਮਨਝੂਠਨਭਾਯੋ॥
(ਇਥੇ ਇਕ ਰੂਪਕ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਦਸਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ, (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ।
Those who wanted to be on the side of truth, they were released and those who sided with falsehood, they were knocked down
ਜੋਭਟਘਾਇਲਭੂਮਿਪਰੇਮਨੋਦੋਸਕੀਯੋਕਛੁਦੰਡੁਦਿਵਾਯੋ॥
ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ, ਮਾਨੋ (ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਕੁਝ ਦੋਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ (ਇਸ ਲਈ) ਦੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
The wounded warriors were lying in the battlefield like the punished criminals
ਏਕਹਨੇਕਰਪਾਇਨਤੇਜਿਨਜੈਸੋਕੀਯੋਫਲਤੈਸੋਈਪਾਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਢੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਉਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
Many were killed by cutting their hands and feet, everyone received the reward of his actions
ਰਾਜਸਿੰਘਾਸਨਸ੍ਯੰਦਨਬੈਠਕੈਸੂਰਨਕੇਨ੍ਰਿਪਨਿਆਉਚੁਕਾਯੋ॥੧੮੬੨॥
ਰਾਜੇ (ਜਰਾਸੰਧ) ਨੇ ਰਥ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਨ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੮੬੨॥
It appeared that king sitting on chariot as throne was imparting justice regarding the sinner and sinless.1862.
ਜਬਭੂਪਇਤੋਰਨਪਾਵਤਭਯੋਤਬਸ੍ਰੀਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਕੋਪਭਰਿਯੋ॥
ਜਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ।
Seeing such a dreadful war of the king, Krishna was filled with rage and
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਸਾਮੁਹੇਜਾਇਕੇਜੂਝਮਚਾਤਭਯੋਚਿਤਮੈਨਰਤੀਕੁਡਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ) ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰਣ ਮੰਡਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਤਾ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਡਰ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ।
Abandoning the fear began terrible fighting in front if the king
ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕਸਾਇਕਏਕਹਨ੍ਯੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੋਉਰਿਲਾਗਕੈਭੂਮਿਪਰਿਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਇਕ ਬਾਣ ਮਾਰਿਆ (ਜੋ) ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਲਗ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਿਆ।
An arrow of Krishna struck the heart of the king and he fell down on the earth
ਇਮਮੇਦਸੋਬਾਨਚਖਿਯੋਨ੍ਰਿਪਕੋਮਨੋਪੰਨਗਦੂਧਕੋਪਾਨਕਰਿਯੋ॥੧੮੬੩॥
ਬਾਣ ਨੇ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਲਗ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ) ਚਰਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਖਿਆ ਮਾਨੋਂ ਸੱਪ ਨੇ ਦੁੱਧ ਪੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੧੮੬੩॥
The arrow of Krishna, penetrated in such a way in the white marrow of the king that it seemed like a snake drinking milk.1863.
ਸਹਿਕੈਸਰਸ੍ਰੀਹਰਿਕੋਉਰਮੈਨ੍ਰਿਪਸ੍ਯਾਮਹੀਕਉਇਕਬਾਨਲਗਾਯੋ॥
(ਆਪਣੀ) ਛਾਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਬਾਣ ਸਹਿ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਤੀਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ।
ਸੂਤਕੇਏਕਲਗਾਵਤਭਯੋਸਰਦਾਰੁਕਲਾਗਤਹੀਦੁਖੁਪਾਯੋ॥
ਇਕ ਤੀਰ (ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ) ਰਥਵਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ, (ਜਿਸ ਦੇ) ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਰਥਵਾਨ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ।
Enduring the arrow of Krishna, which struck his heart, the king shot an arrow towards Krishna, which hit Daruk, whom it caused great agony
ਹੁਇਬਿਸੰਭਾਰਗਿਰਿਯੋਈਚਹੈਤਿਹਕੋਰਥੁਆਸਨਨਠਹਰਾਯੋ॥
(ਉਹ) ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਡਿਗਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ) ਉਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਰਥ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
