ਬਿਮੁਛਿਤਹ੍ਵੈਫਿਰਜੁਧਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਹੋਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਫਿਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਕਉਤੁਕਸਭਲੋਕਨਦਰਸਾਯੋ॥
(ਇਹ) ਕੌਤਕ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
Even on becoming unconscious, both of them continued fighting
ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤਹੁਇਸੁਯਾਬਿਧਿਅਰੈ॥
ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੜਦੇ ਸਨ,
ਕੇਹਰਿਦੁਇਜਨੁਬਨਮੈਲਰੈ॥੨੧੭੪॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੧੭੪॥
And all the people saw this wonderful drama, both fought in their fury like the two lions in the forest.2174.

ਜੁਧਬਿਖੇਥਕਗਯੋਰੁਕਮੀਤਬਧਾਇਹਲੀਇਕਘਾਇਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਕਮੀ ਥਕ ਗਿਆ, ਤਦ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਭਜ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਉਤੇ) ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When Rukmi got tired while fighting, then Balram struck a blow on him
ਤਉਉਨਹੂਅਰਿਕੋਪੁਨਿਘਾਇਸੁਆਵਤਮਾਰਗਮੈਲਖਿਪਾਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਮਾਰਗ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਲਿਆ।
Rukmi saw the coming blow
ਤਉਹੀਸੰਭਾਰਿਗਦਾਅਪੁਨੀਅਰੁਚਿਤਬਿਖੈਅਤਿਰੋਸਬਢਾਯੋ॥
ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਦਾ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਧਾਇਆ।
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਤਿਹਬੀਰਤਬੈਸੁਗਦਾਕੋਗਦਾਸੰਗਿਘਾਇਬਚਾਯੋ॥੨੧੭੫॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਯੋਧੇ ਨੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਗਦਾ ਨਾਲ ਗਦਾ ਦੇ ਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੧੭੫॥
And then holding his mace, in great anger he intercepted the blow of the coming mace and saved himself.2175.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਅਰਿਕੋਜਬਹੀਇਹਆਵਤਘਾਇਕੋਬੀਚਨਿਵਾਰਿਯੋ॥
(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ) ਜਦੋਂ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ (ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਤਉਬਲਭਦ੍ਰਮਹਾਰਿਸਿਠਾਨਿਸੁਅਉਰਗਦਾਹੂਕੋਘਾਉਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਤਦ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਗਦਾ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When the enemy in this way intercepted the blow, then Balram struck another blow with his mace, getting greatly enraged
ਸੋਇਹਕੇਸਿਰਭੀਤਰਲਾਗਗਯੋਇਨਹੂਨਹੀਨੈਕੁਸੰਭਾਰਿਯੋ॥
ਉਹ ਇਸ (ਰੁਕਮੀ) ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਲਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਨਾ ਰਹੀ।
That blow fell upon the head of Rukmi and he could not control himself even slightly
ਝੂਮਕੈਦੇਹਪਰਿਯੋਧਰਨੀਰੁਕਮੀਪੁਨਿਅੰਤਕੇਧਾਮਿਸਿਧਾਰਿਯੋ॥੨੧੭੬॥
ਰੁਕਮੀ ਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਘੁੰਮੇਰੀ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗ ਪਈ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਯਮਲੋਕ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ ॥੨੧੭੬॥
His body fell upon the earth while swinging and in this way Rukmi went to the other world.2176.
ਭ੍ਰਾਤਜਿਤੇਰੁਕਮੀਕੇਹੁਤੇਬਧਭ੍ਰਾਤਨਿਹਾਰਿਕੈਕ੍ਰੋਧਭਰੇ॥
ਰੁਕਮੀ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭਰਾ ਸਨ, ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਬਧ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ।
ਬਰਛੀਅਰੁਬਾਨਕਮਾਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਗਦਾਗਹਿਯਾਪਰਆਇਪਰੇ॥
ਬਰਛੀ, ਧਨੁਸ਼-ਬਾਣ, ਤਲਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਗਦਾ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ) ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ (ਬਲਰਾਮ) ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਏ।
All the brothers of Rukmi, seeing him killed, got infuriated and taking their lances, bows, swords, maces etc, in their hands, fell upon Balram
ਕਿਲਕਾਰਦਸੋਦਿਸਘੇਰਤਭੇਮੁਸਲੀਧਰਤੇਨਰਤੀਕੁਡਰੇ॥
ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਦਸਾਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਤੋਂ) ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਨਾ ਡਰੇ।
ਨਿਸਕੋਮਨੋਹੇਰਿਪਤੰਗਦੀਆਪਰਨੈਕੁਡਰੇਨਹੀਟੂਟਪਰੇ॥੨੧੭੭॥
(ਇੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀਪਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਤੰਗੇ ਟੁਟ ਕੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਵੀ ਡਰੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੧੭੭॥
They, challenging him fearlessly, surrounded him from all the ten direction, like the moths falling upon an earthen lamp after seeing it, without any fear.2177.
ਸੰਗਹਲਾਯੁਧਕੇਉਨਹੂਸੁਉਤੈਅਤਿਕ੍ਰੋਧਹੁਇਜੁਧੁਮਚਾਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਉਥੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਰੀ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
They all fought with Balram in extreme anger
ਭ੍ਰਾਤਕੋਜੁਧਭਯੋਤ੍ਰੀਅਭ੍ਰਾਤਕੇਸੰਗਇਹੈਪ੍ਰਭਜੂਸੁਨਿਪਾਯੋ॥
(ਆਪਣੇ) ਭਰਾ ਦਾ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਲਿਆ।
Krishna also heard that a battle had been fought by Balram, with the brother of his wife
ਬੈਠਬਿਚਾਰਕੀਯੋਸਭਹੂੰਜੁਸਬੈਜਦੁਬੀਰਕੁਟੰਬਬੁਲਾਯੋ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਅਉਰਕਥਾਦਈਛੋਰਹਲੀਕੀਸਹਾਇਕਉਕੋਪਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਿਧਾਯੋ॥੨੧੭੮॥
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਗੱਲ (ਕਥ) ਛਡ ਕੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਲਈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੧੭੮॥
He thought about it and called all his family members, but untimately, he, without giving thought to all the other matter of Balram, rushed for this help.2178.

ਯਮ ਰੂਪ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਆਉਣਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ
ਬੁਧਵੰਤਨਤਿਹਭਾਈਅਨਕਹੀਸੁਕਹਉਸੁਨਾਇ॥੨੧੭੯॥
ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਗੱਲ ਕਹੀ, ਉਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ॥੨੧੭੯॥
When Balram, who appeared like Yama, heard about the coming of Krishna the words of wisdom that he said to the brother of Rukmi, I now relate them,2179

ਦੇਖਿਅਨੀਜਦੁਬੀਰਘਨੀਲੀਏਆਵਤਹੈਡਰੁਤੋਹਿਨਆਵੈ॥
ਵੇਖੋ, ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ।
ਕਉਨਬਲੀਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋਭੂਅਮੈਤੁਮਹੀਨਕਹੋਇਨਸੋਸਮੁਹਾਵੈ॥
ਕਿਹੜਾ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਸਦੇ, ਜੋ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਡਟੇਗਾ।
“Krishna is coming with his army, have you no fear about it? Who is so powerful on the earth, who can fight with Krishna?
ਜਉਜੜਕੈਹਠਹੀਭਿਰਹੈਤੁਕਹਾਫਿਰਜੀਵਤਧਾਮਹਿਆਵੈ॥
ਜੋ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਠ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੜੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਫਿਰ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਘਰ ਪਰਤੇਗਾ।
ਆਜਸੋਊਬਚਿਹੈਇਹਅਉਸਰਜੋਭਜਿਕੈਭਟਪ੍ਰਾਨਬਚਾਵੈ॥੨੧੮੦॥
ਅਜ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਹੀ ਬਚੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਯੋਧਾ ਭਜ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ ॥੨੧੮੦॥
“If any fool fights with him in persistence, is it possible that he would be able to save himself? Only he will be able to save himself today, who will run away and thus save his life.”2180.
ਤਉਲਗਹੀਜੁਤਕੋਪਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਿਧਿਆਹਵਕੀਛਿਤਭੀਤਰਆਏ॥
ਉਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਗਏ।
Then Krishna reached the battlefield, who is the treasure of mercy
ਸ੍ਰਉਣਭਰਿਯੋਬਲਿਭਦ੍ਰਪਿਖਿਯੋਬਿਨੁਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਰੇਰੁਕਮੀਦਰਸਾਏ॥
ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਏ ਹੋਏ ਰੁਕਮੀ ਵਲ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਮਾਰੀ।
There he saw Balram, saturated with blood and also the dead Rukmi
ਭੂਪਤਅਉਰਘਨੇਹੀਪਿਖੇਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਹਰਿਘਾਇਨਆਏ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਘਾਇਲ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਵੇਖੇ।
ਭ੍ਰਾਤਕਉਦੇਖਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਭਏਬਲਿਨਾਰਿਕੋਦੇਖਤਨੈਨਨਿਵਾਏ॥੨੧੮੧॥
ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਕੇ ਹੋਏ (ਪਰ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੀਵੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ (ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ) ॥੨੧੮੧॥
He also saw there many other wounded kings, but he got pleased on seeing Balram and seeing the wife of Balram, he lowered down his eyes.2181.
ਰਥਤੇਤਬਆਪਹਿਧਾਇਕੈਸ੍ਯਾਮਜੂਜਾਇਹਲੀਕਹੁਅੰਕਿਲੀਓ॥
ਰਥ ਉਤੋਂ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ (ਉਤਰ ਕੇ) ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਫੀ ਵਿਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ।
Then Krishna dismounted from the chariot and hugged him
ਫੁਨਿਅਉਰਨਜਾਹਿਗਹਿਯੋਰੁਕਮੀਤਿਹਕੋਸੁਭਲੀਬਿਧਿਦਾਹਕੀਓ॥
ਫਿਰ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਰੁਕਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਕ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਸਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
Then others carried away the dead body of Rukmi and performed his funeral rites
ਉਤਿਦਉਰਿਰੁਕਮਨਭਇਯਨਬੀਚਗਈਤਿਨਜਾਏਸਮੋਧਕੀਓ॥
ਉਧਰ ਰੁਕਮਨੀ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ (ਖੜੋ) ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ
On the other side Rukmani reached amongst her brothers and instructed them not to fight with Krishna
ਕਿਹਕਾਜਕਹਿਯੋਇਨਸੋਤੁਮਜੂਝਕੀਯੋਜਿਨਸੋਭਟਕੋਨਬੀਓ॥੨੧੮੨॥
ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸ ਲਈ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਯੋਧਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੨੧੮੨॥
There is no other hero like him.2182.

ਤਿਨਯੌਸ੍ਯਾਮਸਮੋਧਕਰਾਯੋ॥
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ
ਪੌਤ੍ਰਬਧੂਲੈਡੇਰਨਆਯੋ॥
ਅਤੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਦੀ ਵਹੁਟੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਆਪਣੇ) ਡੇਰੇ ਵਚ ਆ ਗਏ।
Krishna also made them understand and came to his place taking his daughter-in-law with him
ਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਥਾਹ੍ਵੈਹੈਮੈਕੈਹਉ॥
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ,
ਸ੍ਰੋਤਨਭਲੀਭਾਤਿਰਿਝਵੈਹਉ॥੨੧੮੩॥
ਮੈਂ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਰਿਝਾਵਾਂਗਾ ॥੨੧੮੩॥
I, the poet Shyam, am relating the story and pleasing the listeners.2183.

Krishna came home after the marriage of his son and became extremely pleased in his mind
