ਗਰਬਉਤੈਦਸਸੈਭੁਜਕੀਨੋ॥
ਉਧਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਬਾਂਹਵਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ (ਸਹਸ੍ਰਬਾਹੂ) ਨੇ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਮੈਬਰੁਮਹਾਰੁਦ੍ਰਤੇਲੀਨੋ॥੨੧੮੪॥
ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਮਹਾ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਵਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੧੮੪॥
On the other side Sahasarabahu became egoistic on receiving the boon from Rudra (Shiva).2184.

ਗਾਲਬਜਾਇਭਲੀਬਿਧਿਸੋਅਰੁਤਾਲਸਭੋਸੰਗਿਹਾਥਨਦੀਨੋ॥
ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਜਾ ਕੇ (ਅਰਥਾਤ ਬਕਰੇ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਕਢ ਕੇ) ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਤਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
He, appreciating himself, clapped with all his hands
ਜੈਸੇਲਿਖੀਬਿਧਿਬੇਦਬਿਖੈਤਿਹਭੂਪਤਿਹੀਬਿਧਿਸੋਤਪੁਕੀਨੋ॥
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੈ, ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵਿਧੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਪ ਕੀਤਾ।
The king performed austerities according to Vedic injunctions,
ਜਗਿਕਰੇਸਭਹੀਬਿਧਿਪੂਰਬਕਉਨਬਿਧਾਨਬਿਨਾਨਹੀਹੀਨੋ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਯੱਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਧੀ ਪੂਰਵਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬਿਧਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ, (ਜਿਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ) ਨਿਸਫਲ (ਨ ਹੋਇਆ)।
And held a Yajna in accordance with the Vedic rites
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਰਿਝਾਇਕਹਿਯੋਇਹਭਾਤਿਸੁਹੋਕੁਟਵਾਰਇਹੀਬਰੁਲੀਨੋ॥੨੧੮੫॥
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, 'ਹੋ ਕੁਟਵਾਰ' (ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਤਵਾਲ ਬਣੋ) (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਇਹੀ ਵਰ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੧੮੫॥
After pleasing Rudra, he received the boon of protective power.2185.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਜਬੈਕੁਟਵਾਰਕਯੋਤਬਦੇਸਨਿਦੇਸਨਧਰਮਚਲਾਯੋ॥
ਜਦ (ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ (ਆਪਣਾ) 'ਕੁਟਵਾਰ' ਕਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤਦ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
When Rudra bestowed the boon, the king established the religion in various countries
ਪਾਪਕੀਬਾਤਗਈਛਪਕੈਸਭਹੀਜਗਮੈਜਸੁਭੂਪਤਿਛਾਯੋ॥
ਪਾਪ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਲੁਕ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਯਸ਼ ਪਸਰ ਗਿਆ।
There was to sin left and the king was praised throughout the world
ਸਤ੍ਰਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲਕੈਬਸਿਭਏਅਰਿਅਉਰਕਿਹੂੰਨਹਿਸੀਸਉਠਾਯੋ॥
(ਸਾਰੇ) ਵੈਰੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ ਦੇ ਵਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ (ਵੈਰੀ) ਨੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਕਿਆ।
All the enemies came under the control of the trident of the king and no one raised his head out of fear
ਲੋਗਨਤਉਨਸਮੈਜਗਮੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਅਤਿਹੀਸੁਖਪਾਯੋ॥੨੧੮੬॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸੁਖ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ॥੨੧੮੬॥
The poet says that the people were extremely happy during his reign.2186.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਭਏਅਰਿਬਸਿਕਿਹੂੰਅਰਿਆਨਨਸੀਸਉਠਾਯੋ॥
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਾ ਉਠਾਇਆ।
With the grace of Rudra, all the enemies came under his control and no one raised his head
ਕਰਿਲੈਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਭਨੈਅਤਿਹੀਇਹਪਾਇਨਊਪਰਸੀਸਝੁਕਾਯੋ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਲ, (ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ 'ਕਰ' ਭੇਟਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਸਿਰ ਝੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
All of them paid the tax and bowed at his feet
ਭੂਪਨਰੰਚਕਬਾਤਲਈਇਹਪਉਰਖਮੇਰੋਈਹੈਲਖਿਪਾਯੋ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਜਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਸਮਝੀ (ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ) ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੀ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ।
Without understanding the mystery of the grace of Rudra, the king thought that this was due to his power only
ਪਉਰਖਭਯੋਭੁਜਦੰਡਨਰੁਦ੍ਰਤੇਜੁਧਹੀਕੋਬਰੁਮਾਗਨਧਾਯੋ॥੨੧੮੭॥
ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੁਜਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ (ਤਾਂ) ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਵਰ ਮੰਗਣ ਲਈ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ ॥੨੧੮੭॥
Thinking about the strength of his arms, he went to Shiva for the grant of the boon of the victory in war.2187.

ਮੂਰਖਲਹਿਯੋਨਭੇਦੁਜੁਧੁਚਹਨਿਸਿਵਪੈਚਲਿਯੋ॥
ਮੂਰਖ ਨੇ ਭੇਦ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ।
ਕਰਿਬਿਰਥਾਸਭਖੇਦਿਜਿਵਰਵਿਤਪਬਾਰੂਤਪੈ॥੨੧੮੮॥
ਸਾਰੀ ਤਪਸਿਆ ('ਖੇਦ') ਨੂੰ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਕਰ (ਦਿੱਤਾ) ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਤਪਿਆਂ ਰੇਤ ਵੀ ਤਪ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੧੮੮॥
Like the blazing sand heated by the sun, that foolish king, without understanding the mystery of his grace, went to Shiva for the grant of the boon of victory in war.2188.

ਸੀਸਨਿਵਾਇਕੈਪ੍ਰੇਮਬਢਾਇਕੈਯੌਨ੍ਰਿਪਰੁਦ੍ਰਸੋਬੈਨਸੁਨਾਵੈ॥
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ, ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਚਨ (ਕਹਿ) ਸੁਣਾਏ।
ਜਾਤਹੋਹਉਜਿਹਸਤ੍ਰਪੈਰੁਦ੍ਰਜੂਕੋਊਨਆਗੇਤੇਹਾਥਉਠਾਵੈ॥
ਹੇ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਜੀ! ਮੈਂ ਜਿਸ ਵੈਰੀ ਉਤੇ (ਹੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਗੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਹੱਥ ਨਹੀਂ ਚੁਕਦਾ।
Bowing down his head, the king said to Rudra (Shiva) with affection, “Wherever I go, no one raises his hand against me
ਤਾਤੇਅਯੋਧਨਕਉਹਮਰੋਕਬਿਸ੍ਯਾਮਕਹੈਮਨੂਆਲਲਚਾਵੈ॥
ਕਵੀ ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਬਹੁਤ ਲਲਚਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਚਾਹਤਹੋਤੁਮਤੇਬਰੁਆਜਕੋਊਹਮਰੇਸੰਗਜੂਝਮਚਾਵੈ॥੨੧੮੯॥
ਅਜ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਵਰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਮਚਾਵੇ ॥੨੧੮੯॥
My mind is eager to wage a war and I request you to bestow on me the boon that someone may come to fight with me.”2189.
