ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਹੰਸ ਯਾ ਮਰਜੀਵਾ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਟੋਭਾ ਹੀ ਨਿਸਚੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸਮੁੰਦ੍ਰ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਇਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਮਈ ਭੇਟ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਾਰੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
Just as treasures of pearls and diamonds are found in the sea, but only a seasoned evaluator of these precious stones who can dive deep into the bottom of sea can surely enjoy the pleasure of picking them up from there.
ਜੈਸੇਪਰਬਤਹੀਰਾਮਾਨਕਪਾਰਸਸਿਧਖਨਵਾਰਾਖਨਿਜਗਿਵਿਖੇਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਹੀ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਬਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀਰੇ ਮਣੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਸ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸਿੱਧ ਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਖੋਜੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Just as mountains have diamonds, rubies and philosopher stones those can purify metals into gold, but only an adept excavator can bring them out before the world.
ਜੈਸੇਬਨਬਿਖੈਮਲਿਆਗਰਸੌਧਾਕਪੂਰਸੋਧਕੈਸੁਬਾਸੀਸੁਬਾਸਬਿਹਸਾਵਹੀ।
ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਲਿਆਗਰ ਚੰਨਣ ਸੋਧਾ ਕਪੂਰ ਗੰਧ ਸਾਰ ਘੀਆ ਕਪੂਰ ਆਦਿ ਸੁਗੰਧੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸੁਬਾਸੀ ਸੋਂਘਾ ਸੋਧ ਕੈ ਢੂੰਢ ਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਇਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਹਸਾਵਈ ਖੇੜਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as a jungle has many aromatic trees like sandalwood, camphor etc., but only a perfumery expert can bring their fragrance out.
ਤੈਸੇਗੁਰਬਾਨੀਬਿਖੈਸਕਲਪਦਾਰਥਹੈਜੋਈਜੋਈਖੋਜੈਸੋਈਸੋਈਨਿਪਜਾਵਹੀ।੫੪੬।
ਤਿਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਰਥ ਕਾਮ ਮੋਖ ਰੂਪ ਸਭ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਖੋਜੇਗਾ, ਓਹੋ ਓਹੋ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਅਥਵਾ ਜਿਸ ਜਿਸ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਖੋਜੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਖੋਜੇ ਓਹੋ ਓਹੋ ਹੀ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਓਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਆਇਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫੪੬॥
Similarly Gurbani has all the precious items but whosoever would search and research them, he would be rewarded with those items that he so fondly desires. (546)
