ਜੈਸੇਤੌਪ੍ਰਸੂਤਸਮੈਸਤ੍ਰੂਕਰਿਮਾਨੈਪ੍ਰਿਐਜਨਮਤਸੁਤਪੁਨਰਚਤਸਿੰਗਾਰੈਜੀ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਬੱਚਾ ਜੰਮਣ ਵੇਲੇ ਦੀ ਪੀੜਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਜੰਮਣ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਫੇਰ ਉਸੇ ਲਈ ਸੋਲਾਂ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੁਝ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵ ਉਸੇ ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
Just as a woman considers her husband as her enemy at the time of undergoing labour pains, but after the birth of the child, she re-indulges in adorning and embellishing herself in order to please and entice her husband,
ਜੈਸੇਬੰਦਸਾਲਾਬਿਖੈਭੂਪਤਕੀਨਿੰਦਾਕਰੈਛੂਟਤਹੀਵਾਹੀਸ੍ਵਾਮਿਕਾਮਹਿਸਮ੍ਹਾਰੈਜੀ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਲਕਾਰ ਕੈਦ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੈਦ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਥੋਂ ਛੁਟਦਾ ਹੀ ਉਸੇ ਉਸੇ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Just as a well-wisher of a king is put in jail for some mistake and on his release the same courtier performs the assigned task as a true well-wisher of the king,
ਜੈਸੇਹਰਹਾਇਗਾਇਸਾਸਨਾਸਹਤਨਿਤਕਬਹੂੰਨਸਮਝੈਕੁਟੇਵਹਿਨਡਾਰੈਜੀ।
ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਜਦ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਪਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਜ਼ ਹਾਏ ਹਾਏ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟ ਕੇ ਭੈੜੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਲ ਚੁਕੇ ਦੰਡ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਂਦਾ।
Just as a thief when caught and imprisoned is ever lamenting but as soon as his sentence ends, re-indulges in theft not learns from his punishment,
ਤੈਸੇਦੁਖਦੋਖਪਾਪੀਪਾਪਹਿਤ੍ਯਾਗ੍ਯੋਚਾਹੈਸੰਕਟਮਿਟਤਪੁਨਪਾਪਹਿਬੀਚਾਰੈਜੀ।੫੭੭।
ਤਿਵੇਂ ਪਾਪੀ ਦੋਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛਡਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੇਮਿਟਿਆਂ ਫਿਰ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੫੭੭॥
Similarly, a sinful man wants to leave his evil deeds because of pain and sufferings that these have caused him but as soon as the sentenced punishment period is over, re-indulges in these vices. (577)
