ਦਉਰਦਈਅਰਿਕੇਮੁਖਿਮੈਕਟਿਓਠਦਏਜਿਮੁਲੋਹਕੌਛੈਨੀ॥
ਭਜ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਖ ਵਿਚ (ਧਸਾ) ਦਿੱਤੀ। (ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੇ) ਹੋਠਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਲੋਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੈਣੀ (ਕਟ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ)
She ran forward and struck on the face of the enemy and cut his lips just as the chisel cuts the iron.,
ਦਾਤਗੰਗਾਜਮੁਨਾਤਨਸਿਆਮਸੋਲੋਹੂਬਹਿਓਤਿਨਮਾਹਿਤ੍ਰਿਬੈਨੀ॥੯੭॥
(ਉਸ) ਦੈਂਤ ਦੇ ਦੰਦ ਗੰਗਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਫ਼ੈਦ, ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਜਮਨਾ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਲਹੂ ਤ੍ਰਿਬੇਣੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੯੭॥
The demon had black body and the teeth like Ganges and Yamuna, together with red blood, all the three colour have taken the form of Tribeni.97.,
ਘਾਉਲਗੈਰਿਸਕੈਦ੍ਰਿਗਧੂਮ੍ਰਸੁਕੈਬਲਿਆਪਨੋਖਗੁਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ॥
ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮ ਲਗਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਧੂਮ੍ਰਲੋਚਨ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਖਿਚ ਲਿਆ।
Seeing himself wounded Dhumar Lochan, with great strength took control of his sword.,
ਬੀਸਪਚੀਸਕੁਵਾਰਕਰੇਤਿਨਕੇਹਰਿਕੋਪਗੁਨੈਕੁਨਹਾਰਿਓ॥
ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਚੰਡੀ ਉਤੇ) ਵੀਹ ਪੰਝੀ ਵਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਪਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦਾ ਪੈਰ ਜ਼ਰਾ ਨਾ ਥਿੜਕਿਆ।
The demon struck twenty to twenty-five blows, but the lion did not take even one foot backward.,
ਧਾਇਗਦਾਗਹਿਫੋਰਿਕੈਫਉਜਕੋਘਾਉਸਿਵਾਸਿਰਿਦੈਤਕੇਮਾਰਿਓ॥
(ਉਧਰੋਂ) ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਗਦਾ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਫੌਜ (ਦੀ ਸਫ਼) ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਦੈਂਤ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰਿਆ,
Holding her mace the goddess splitting the army of the enemy, struck such a blow on the head of the demon Dhumar Lochan,
ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗਧਰਾਧਰਊਪਰਕੋਜਨੁਕੋਪਪੁਰੰਦ੍ਰਨੈਬਜ੍ਰਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ॥੯੮॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਇੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉਤੇ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਦੀ ਸੱਟ ਮਾਰੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥੯੮॥
Just as Indra, in great fury, hath attacked a mountainous citadel with his weapon Vajra.98.,
ਲੋਚਨਧੂਮਉਠੈਕਿਲਕਾਰਲਏਸੰਗਦੈਤਨਕੇਕੁਰਮਾ॥
(ਗਦਾ ਦੀ ਸਟ ਵਜਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ) ਧੂਮ੍ਰਲੋਚਨ ਚੀਖ਼ ਉਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਲ (ਕੁਰਮਾ) ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ
Dhumar Locahn, shouting loudly and taking his forces with him,
ਗਹਿਪਾਨਿਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਅਚਾਨਕਤਾਨਿਲਗਾਈਹੈਕੇਹਰਿਕੇਉਰਮਾ॥
ਅਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
Holding his sword in his hand, suddenly struck a blow on Lion’s body.,
ਹਰਿਚੰਡਿਲਇਓਬਰਿਕੈਕਰਤੇਅਰੁਮੂੰਡਕਟਿਓਅਸੁਰੰਪੁਰਮਾ॥
ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਫੜ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਨਾਲ (ਮਾਰੀ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ) ਵੈਰੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਟ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਦੈਂਤ-ਪੁਰੀ ਵਿਚ (ਜਾ ਡਿਗਿਆ)
Chandni, on the other hand , with her hand’s sword cut off the head of Dhumar Lochan, hurled it on the demons.,
ਮਾਨੋਆਂਧੀਬਹੇਧਰਨੀਪਰਛੂਟੀਖਜੂਰਤੇਟੂਟਪਰਿਓਖੁਰਮਾ॥੯੯॥
ਮਾਨੋ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਚਲਣ ਨਾਲ ਖਜੂਰ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛ ਤੋਂ ਖਜੂਰਾਂ ਟੁਟ ਕੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਤੇ ਡਿਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ ॥੯੯॥
Just as in a violent storm, the date falls far away, after breaking from the palm-tree.99.,

When the goddess killed Dhumar Lochan in this way,
ਅਸੁਰਸੈਨਬਿਨੁਚੈਨਹੁਇਕੀਨੋਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ॥੧੦੦॥
(ਉਦੋਂ) ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਬੈਚੈਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਗ ਪਈ ॥੧੦੦॥
The army of the demons, being confounded, greatly lamented.100.,
ਇਤਿਸ੍ਰੀਮਾਰਕੰਡੇਪੁਰਾਣੇਚੰਡੀਚਰਿਤ੍ਰਉਕਤਿਬਿਲਾਸਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਨਬਧਹਿਨਾਮਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਧਿਆਇਸਮਾਪਤਮਸਤੁਸੁਭਮਸਤੁ॥੩॥
ਇਥੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਰਕੰਡੇ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਦੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚੰਡੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਉਕਤਿ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਦੇ 'ਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਨ ਬਧ' ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੀਜਾ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤ ਹੋਇਆ ਸਭ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ ॥੩॥

ਸੋਰੁਸੁਨਿਓਜਬਦੈਤਨਕੋਤਬਚੰਡਿਪ੍ਰਚੰਡਤਚੀਅਖੀਆਂ॥
(ਦੇਵੀ ਨੇ) ਜਦ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ੋਰ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਦ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭਰੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਘੂਰਿਆ।
When the powerful Chandi heard the furore of the demons, her eyes bhecame red with anger.,
ਹਰਧਿਆਨਛੁਟਿਓਮੁਨਿਕੋਸੁਨਿਕੈਧੁਨਿਟੂਟਿਖਗੇਸਗਈਪਖੀਆਂ॥
ਉਸ ਦੀ (ਗਰਜਨਾ ਦੀ) ਧੁਨ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਛੁਟ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ (ਗਰੁੜ) ਦੀਆਂ ਖੰਭੜੀਆਂ ਟੁਟ ਗਈਆਂ।
The contemplation of Shiva was broken by the noise and being perturbed slackened the winged flight.,
ਦ੍ਰਿਗਜੁਆਲਬਢੀਬੜਵਾਨਲਜਿਉਕਵਿਨੇਉਪਮਾਤਿਹਕੀਲਖੀਆਂ॥
(ਚੰਡੀ ਦੀਆਂ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਵਾਲਾ ਬੜਵਾਨਲ (ਸਮੁੰਦਰੀ ਅੱਗ) ਵਾਂਗ ਵਧ ਗਈ, ਕਵੀ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਮਾ (ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕੀਤੀ
With the fire from the eyes of the goddess, the army of the demons was reduced to ashes, the poet imagined this anloty.,
ਸਭੁਛਾਰਭਇਓਦਲੁਦਾਨਵਕੋਜਿਮੁਘੂਮਿਹਲਾਹਲਕੀਮਖੀਆਂ॥੧੦੧॥
ਕਿ ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਲ (ਇੰਜ ਸੜ ਕੇ) ਸੁਆਹ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ (ਹਲਾਹਲ) ਉਪਰ ਘੁੰਮਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਮੱਖੀਆਂ (ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ) ॥੧੦੧॥
All the demon-army was reduced to ashes just as the bees are destroyed by the poisonous somoke.101.,

ਅਉਰਸਕਲਸੈਨਾਜਰੀਬਚਿਓਸੁਏਕੈਪ੍ਰੇਤੁ॥
ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਸੜ ਗਈ, (ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ ਦੈਂਤ ਹੀ ਬਚਿਆ।
All the other army was burnt except the single demon.,
ਚੰਡਿਬਚਾਇਓਜਾਨਿਕੈਅਉਰਨਮਾਰਨਹੇਤੁ॥੧੦੨॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਜਾਣ ਬੁਝ ਕੇ ਬਚਾਇਆ ॥੧੦੨॥
Chandi had deliberately saved him in order to kill others.102.,
ਭਾਜਿਨਿਸਾਚਰਮੰਦਮਤਿਕਹੀਸੁੰਭਪਹਿਜਾਇ॥
(ਉਹ) ਮੂਰਖ ਦੈਂਤ ਭਜ ਕੇ ਸੁੰਭ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ
The foolish demon ran away and told the king sumbh,
ਧੂਮ੍ਰਨੈਨਸੈਨਾਸਹਿਤਡਾਰਿਓਚੰਡਿਖਪਾਇ॥੧੦੩॥
ਅਤੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ ਕਿ ਸੈਨਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਧੂਮ੍ਰਲੋਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਡੀ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ॥੧੦੩॥
