ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁਮਹਲਾ੫॥
Bilaaval, Fifth Mahalaa:
बिलावलु महला ५ ॥
ਉਦਮੁਕਰਤਆਨਦੁਭਇਆਸਿਮਰਤਸੁਖਸਾਰੁ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਦਾ) ਉੱਦਮ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਸਰੂਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਸੁਖ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
Try to meditate, and contemplate the source of peace, and bliss will come to you.
उदमु करत आनदु भइआ सिमरत सुख सारु ॥
ਜਪਿਜਪਿਨਾਮੁਗੋਬਿੰਦਕਾਪੂਰਨਬੀਚਾਰੁ॥੧॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਸਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ) ॥੧॥
Chanting, and meditating on the Name of the Lord of the Universe, perfect understanding is achieved. ||1||
जपि जपि नामु गोबिंद का पूरन बीचारु ॥१॥
ਚਰਨਕਮਲਗੁਰਕੇਜਪਤਹਰਿਜਪਿਹਉਜੀਵਾ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Meditating on the Lotus Feet of the Guru, and chanting the Name of the Lord, I live.
चरन कमल गुर के जपत हरि जपि हउ जीवा ॥
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁਆਰਾਧਤੇਮੁਖਿਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁਪੀਵਾ॥੧॥ਰਹਾਉ॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਪ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾਲ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਪੀਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Worshipping the Supreme Lord God in adoration, my mouth drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||Pause||
पारब्रहमु आराधते मुखि अंम्रितु पीवा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
ਜੀਅਜੰਤਸਭਿਸੁਖਿਬਸੇਸਭਕੈਮਨਿਲੋਚ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ) ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, (ਜਪਣ ਵਾਲੇ) ਸਭਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ) ਤਾਂਘ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਈ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
All beings and creatures dwell in peace; the minds of all yearn for the Lord.
जीअ जंत सभि सुखि बसे सभ कै मनि लोच ॥
ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੁਨਿਤਚਿਤਵਤੇਨਾਹੀਕਛੁਪੋਚ॥੨॥
(ਜੇਹੜੇ ਜੇਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ) ਸਦਾ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ-ਵਿਕਾਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾ ਸਕਦਾ ॥੨॥
Those who continually remember the Lord, do good deeds for others; they harbor no ill will towards anyone. ||2||
परउपकारु नित चितवते नाही कछु पोच ॥२॥
ਧੰਨੁਸੁਥਾਨੁਬਸੰਤਧੰਨੁਜਹਜਪੀਐਨਾਮੁ॥
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਭੀ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ,
Blessed is that place, and blessed are those who dwell there, where they chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
धंनु सु थानु बसंत धंनु जह जपीऐ नामु ॥
ਕਥਾਕੀਰਤਨੁਹਰਿਅਤਿਘਨਾਸੁਖਸਹਜਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ॥੩॥
(ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਥਾਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ-ਵਾਰਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਰਹੇ, ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦਾ, ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦਾ ਟਿਕਾਣਾ (ਸੋਮਾ) ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੩॥
The Sermon and the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises are sung there very often; there is peace, poise and tranquility. ||3||
कथा कीरतनु हरि अति घना सुख सहज बिस्रामु ॥३॥
ਮਨਤੇਕਦੇਨਵੀਸਰੈਅਨਾਥਕੋਨਾਥ॥
(ਇਸ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ!) ਉਹ ਅਨਾਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕਦੇ ਮਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੁੱਲਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।
In my mind, I never forget the Lord; He is the Master of the masterless.
मन ते कदे न वीसरै अनाथ को नाथ ॥
ਨਾਨਕਪ੍ਰਭਸਰਣਾਗਤੀਜਾਕੈਸਭੁਕਿਛੁਹਾਥ॥੪॥੨੯॥੫੯॥
ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-) ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਸਰਨ ਸਦਾ ਪਏ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੈ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੫੯॥
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God; everything is in His hands. ||4||29||59||
नानक प्रभ सरणागती जा कै सभु किछु हाथ ॥४॥२९॥५९॥
